REDX Patented Inverter Technology

Inverter technology is at the heart of renewable energy. The inverter needs to have high efficiency, generate less heat, be small enough in size for easy installation, high reliability for longer life time.

As for the battery energy storage, it requires bidirectional energy flow, this energy needs to be released from the battery and connect to grid, or the grid energy needs to charge batteries when it needs to do so.

Redx FWS inverter technology has the highest conversion efficiency in the category. It has bidirectional flow features and using conventional power MOSFETs.

It has the smallest size footprint in all other compared inverter topologies.

For energy power conversion, the Redx inverter technology, the inverter is very light in weight and PV inverters can be designed with highest conversion efficiency.

 

Bidirectional DC-DC Converter

To convert battery voltages (48V or 120V) to higher voltage DC bus to power inverters, DC-DC converters are required, and it is essential. However, a 48V battery system to power inverter at high power situation, large DC current (100A or higher) is very challenge for DC-DC converter designs. In most of battery connected DC-DC converters, LLC DC-DC converter topology is widely used. Due to the nature of LLC converter topology, optimal efficiency is very difficult to achieve in battery voltage changes and current changes. Redx patented single stage buck-boost converter achieved very high efficiency during input voltage or current changes, it maintains optimal efficiency cross complete range of voltage or current variations.

 

Control Algorithms

In the VPP applications, very fast response time is very important. Sophisticated control loop and algorithms are essential. Using proprietary inverter and DC-DC converter topologies to achieve instantaneous energy flow in both directions, Redx control algorithms play the very important roles.
